Police Charity Golf Day at Hawks Nest Golf Club raises $5,800 FEATURED Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - March 17, 2015 THE young and the old of Tea Gardens Hawks Nest will all benefit from the $5,800 raised at the latest Police Charity Golf Day. The event, held at Hawks Nest Golf Club late last year, is scheduled annually to give the police force a chance to get together, while at the same time raising money for a good cause. “We just wanted to be able to put back into the community,” organiser Norm Webber said. Tea Gardens Public School, Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Meals on Wheels, The Community Bus and Peter Sinclair Gardens were this year’s beneficiaries. Representatives from the beneficiaries enjoyed a morning tea at the Golf Club with several police officers including Tea Gardens Dave Coyle. “We like to make sure the funds are distributed between the young and old of the community so everyone can benefit,” Norm said. 110 starters came together for the charity golf day which was held back in October last year.
