A strong commitment has been made by the preschool in creating an educational and nurturing environment that welcomes all families and members of the community.

Various practices have been incorporated into the Program with the children acknowledging the Worimi People each morning, Aboriginal/Torres Strait Island flags being displayed at the sign-in desk and the children using laminated Aboriginal flag placemats at each meal.

“We approached Murrook Cultural Centre for an outreach program and their Education Officers now visit the preschool on a regular basis,” Judy Clarke, told News Of The Area.

“For a long time now we have planned to have a visual welcome for everyone entering our Centre and have tried previously to have a mural painted on our wall.

“At long last we have sourced a Worimi artist who has agreed to do this project and a special Dreaming story has been designed for our Preschool”, Judy said.

“So this donation of $500.00 from the Pearls ladies will greatly assist with our project and I would publicly like to thank the ladies for their interest and ongoing support.”
