Angels were in our midst on Friday night and many were unaware of it.

An impartation of Peace was given to the people on the Tomaree Peninsula through a series of “Sacred Dances” given by two illuminated angels who gracefully danced on the foreshore of Nelson Bay.

The Peace Angels, a part of the Shanti Mission, are a group of people of all ages and backgrounds, dedicated to anchoring and celebrating peace throughout the world.

This is done through the mediums of performance, prayer and transformation.

The Peace Angels offer products and services that support both local and international communities through education, creativity and service programs.

Antoinette Sampson who is the Former Artistic Director of ATYP (Australian Theatre for Young People) as well as an acting teacher at NIDA is currently the Creative Director of Peace Angels.

An annual performance at Pitt Street Mall at Christmas time and regular hospital visiting programs are all part of the imparting of peace and creating an awareness that even though sometimes unseen, there are truly Angels in our midst.

The Peace Angels programs are designed to bring a simple yet eloquent reminder of the power of peace – in the individual, the home, the family, the workplace, the community and the world.

Sharon, known as her Angel name “Kalikayama”, and Joanne known as “Kalibolo”, were met with curiosity and smiles as small children and families were drawn to them for photo opportunities.

“I have had lots of trauma in my life and I have finally come to a place of peace and forgiveness and it has changed my life,” Joanne (Kalibolo) told Bay News Of The Area.

“As well as imparting peace, we want everyone to know that we are not alone in this life, that we have unseen angels with us throughout our entire lives,” Kalibolo said.

The Angelic duo believe that as they walked and danced, embodying peace, they were gifting back peace to the people of Nelson Bay.

The Peace Angels can be seen every Friday night during the month of January at the Sacred Tree Markets on the Nelson Bay Foreshore.
