Partners of Veterans Seminar for Wellbeing Support Officers in Nambucca Nambucca Valley Nambucca Valley News by News Of The Area - Modern Media - June 20, 2021 PVA Nambucca group meeting up with some Seminar attendees. A VERY successful Wellbeing Seminar for Wellbeing Support Officers was held on 9 June 2021 at the Nambucca RSL Club. Wellbeing Support Officers came from Nambucca Heads, Grafton, Newcastle and the Central Coast to attend the Seminar and a very welcome attendee was Mr Bob Crisp, the Welfare Officer for the Nambucca RSL Sub Branch. Whilst it was a cold rainy day which started at 9.30am and finished at 4pm everyone was enthusiastic and keen to gain more knowledge that would inevitably assist them with their volunteer roles in visiting and caring for the veteran community. The Seminar discussed information available to adapt practices to support safety in the current pandemic environment for Wellbeing Advocates and Support Officers as well as providing information.on current resources, assistance and support available to veterans and their families. Mrs Louise Freebairn, President of the Partners of Veterans Association (NSW Branch Inc.), was the main presenter on the day. She was very pleased that everyone worked well together and asked relevant questions throughout, ensuring a successful outcome for all. Ms Amber Lynch from Open Arms drove up from Port Macquarie to provide current information on the training available for veterans, partners and their families, as well as resources and support services available to the veteran community. There will be future seminars for Wellbeing Support Officers which will continue to be supported and organised by the PVA NSW Branch Inc.
