OPINION: Cultural centre access Opinion Property/Sports/Opinion - popup ad by News Of The Area - Modern Media - October 12, 2023 DEAR News Of The Area, A WHILE back I wrote regarding the ridiculous situation at Woolgoolga Beach where a perfectly serviceable toilet block (both male and female) with shower facilities and change rooms was replaced by council with him/her toilets in the middle of a children’s playground with no change rooms or showers. Bad enough! The green monster cultural centre that the pundits think was an absolute steal at $82 million, comes without parking for the disabled. Yes, there is limited disabled parking in the shopping centre car park which is primarily there for shoppers, but I guess, is now there to be shared by shoppers, library users and those on council business. Maybe those with disabilities don’t need as much culture because access to the culture centre is going to be a challenge. Planning doesn’t seem to be a strong point, perhaps this small oversight can be addressed and a solution found. Regards, Ron STRAUCH, Arrawarra.
