The Rotary Club of Great Lakes is staging a grand musical performance beside the beautiful Wallis Lake at John Wright Park Tuncurry on the 19 March 2016. 

This event is only 9 months away and arrangements are well advanced.

Tour operators have been making arrangements for busloads of music lovers to come to Tuncurry/Forster reflecting the widespread popularity of this live performance besides such a spectacular setting.

Tickets go on sale through Great Lakes Tourism either on line or at Great Lake Tourist Information offices located in Forster on link “buy tickets”.

Sharon Bultitude, Marketing Manager from Great Lakes Tourism said, “Over 50% of tickets have already been pre-booked… we suggest that you book sooner rather than later.”

The repertoire for the Opera by the Lake concert featuring “Opera Bites” a boutique opera company from Sydney is very extensive and includes arias and duets from some of the world’s most popular operas such as Traviata, Carmen and Figaro.

Other favourites are from popular musicals like The Phantom and Le Miserables.

Opera Bites specialises in fully costumed concerts of opera and lighter repertoire making it highly entertaining and appealing.

The format of condensed operas in the first half, then lighter repertoire in the second half offers engaging performances which are popular with newcomers yet fresh and alive for the seasoned opera-goer.
