It’s significant that this event falls in the month of Movember with the area’s men encouraged to come down and participate in a judgement-free environment to be open and honest about their experiences.

OneWave Port Stephens organiser Kaz O’Toole said that after a terrific first event it’s hoped more people will come to enjoy some yoga, a surf, a coffee and an open conversation.

“We’ve had such a great response from the community so far and we’d like everyone to come down and enjoy a morning at the beach in an open and all-inclusive setting,” said Kaz.

“It’s important that we keep the conversation going and it’s hoped we get some more of the areas men down especially being Movember!”

The day starts with a welcoming from organisers and then breaks out into COVID-Safe groups to have an open conversation about anything participants want to discuss.

From there there’s the option to go for a surf, get the limbs moving with some yoga or just have a cuppa and a chat about the day.

“I think collectively when we open more dialogue on the issue we find that we’re not alone in the experiences we face,” said Kaz.

“We truly are all in this together!”

Fluro Salty Saturday kicks off at Robinson Reserve, Anna Bay at 6:30am this Saturday.
