One Mile Port Stephens reopens as COVID-19 restrictions ease

WITH the latest easing of NSW Government COVID-19 restrictions, One Mile Beach will reinstate flagged lifeguard operations from Monday 1 June 2020 and throughout the winter period until Friday 25 September 2020.

Port Stephens Mayor Ryan Palmer welcomes the easing of restrictions however reminds the community to remain vigilant and abide by the COVIDSafe Guidelines.

“We know how important it is to get outdoors and enjoy all that Port Stephens has to offer — but it’s important to ensure we still take the necessary precautions,” he said.

Swimmers and visitors can swim between the flags but must continue to follow NSW public health orders to not gather in groups of more than 10 and maintain physical distancing.

The Australian Lifeguard Service will operate 7 days a week at One Mile Beach from 9am to 4pm from 1 June to 25 September 2020. The official season will commence on 26 September 2020.
