A company spokesperson said the renovation work needed to prepare the building is expected to recommence shortly.
“The Council have granted conditional consent to our Development Application,” the spokesperson said.
“We are hopeful of receiving a Construction Certificate in a few weeks which will allow us to open before Christmas.”
Construction work at the site came to a halt earlier this year after considerable structural damage was discovered during renovations.
A Development Application and Statement of Environmental Effect needed to be lodged with Council before a Construction Certificate could be issued to undertake the necessary repairs.
With the application now moving through Council, the spokesperson said Oliver’s are “happy with the progress so far”.
The new store is expected to provide employment for a dozen locals once opened.
