North Coast Swim Academy dives back into action

NORTH Coast Swim Academy have dived back into action and coach Daniel Bannerman says the students have taken to it like a duck to water.

“Despite four weeks of lockdown the juniors adjusted really quickly and are back into the swing of things and hitting fast times again.

“Some of the swimmers have been training in the ocean during lockdown and others have been doing land based exercises to stay in shape.

“The seniors have taken a little longer to adjust but after two weeks of training they should be getting back to feeling good in the water.

“We have been training indoors over winter, it’s pretty cold at 5:30am but at around 7:30am when the sun starts shining some of the students have been swimming outdoors, we will slowly move outdoors as the weather gets warmer.

“We have many swimmers including several state swimmers who were looking forward to competing in carnivals but unfortunately all community sports are off at the moment, but that is fine, we are focussed on technique and speed so when things open up and running again we are ready to compete at the highest levels,” said Daniel.
