Health staff at the drive through clinic are working tirelessly to ensure speedy processing.

THE MID North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) have reported the Mid North Coast is currently COVID free and they want your help to keep it that way by getting tested, vaccinated and staying safe.

“There are no local cases, no sewage detections and testing numbers remain high with five thousand two hundred tests conducted in the past seven days,” a MNC spokesperson revealed on Monday.

There have been record numbers of people getting tested over the last two weeks for COVID-19.

The MNCLHD has experienced increased testing since the Bondi cluster began in mid-June but the numbers rose significantly over the last two weeks.

To cater for the increase in demand a drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic opened last week at Coffs Harbour International Stadium to increase the District’s testing capacity.

Mr Stewart Dowrick, Chief Executive Mid North Coast Local Health District said, “The Mid North Coast community’s response to the recent call for increased COVID-19 testing has been fantastic, with people presenting for testing at clinics across the district, including at Coffs Harbour.

“I’d again like to thank our wonderful staff at our testing clinics for all their tireless efforts and the community for coming forward for testing and helping us to keep each other safe,” he said.

The clinic is open from 8am to 8pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm on weekends.

The exposure sites of The Shoreline and the Hoey Moey were revealed last week in Coffs Harbour.

Mr Dowrick concluded, “We continue to urge anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose, scratchy or sore throat, cough, fever, shortness of breath, headache, tiredness, loss of taste or smell, nausea, diarrhoea or muscle aches – to self-isolate and seek COVID-19 testing.”

The Mid North Coast Local Health District also encouraged people who are eligible to come forward for vaccination as soon as possible.

There are more than 100 NSW vaccination clinics and outreach locations across the state.
