FEMALE football was flourishing last Sunday as North Coast Football’s (NCF) Talented Female Program took on Palm Beach Soccer Club.

NCF emerged victorious in the under 15s with a 1-0 win and dominated the under 13s with a 4-0 triumph, while the under 17s faced a tough 4-1 defeat.

Established in 1966, Palm Beach Soccer Club has grown into one of the largest and most successful sports clubs on the Gold Coast.

With over 80 junior teams and dedicated female football programs, the interstate matchup provided a valuable opportunity for the NCF girls to compete against top notch opposition from Queensland.

NCF under 15s coach Nathan Silvy praised the quality of football on display.

“The game showcased strong performances from both teams, reflecting the competitive nature of the game,” he said.

“North Coast Football managed to secure a 1-0 victory, demonstrating excellent skill and teamwork.

“Palm Beach fought hard to try and find an equaliser, but ultimately fell short as North Coast’s defence held firm in the closing stages of the game.”

In an end-to-end game filled with opportunities, both teams pushed to add to their tally.

“Both teams had their opportunities, with Palm Beach showing resilience and creating several chances that tested North Coast’s goalkeeper.

“However, North Coast’s consistent pressure and strategic play ultimately led them to a well-deserved win.

“I was very happy with the girls’ performance today.

“We have been working hard in training on staying compact in defence and providing the ball player with options once we win possession.

“The girls executed the game beautifully,” Silvy said.
