North Coast Football under 15’s off to a flying start in the National Premier League

Olly Angus Brown opened the scoring.

NORTH Coast Football under 15’s got off to a flying start with a 4-1 over Weston Workers in the National Premier League at the Lake Macquarie Football Facility on Saturday.

NCF were quick off the mark as Olly Angus-Brown penetrated the defence to score the opening goal but the lead was short lived as Weston Workers struck back ten minutes later to level the score at half-time.

An inspired half-time team talk resulted in more possession for NCF in the second half and the attackers were clinical in their finishing as Jak Snowing, Olly Angus-Brown and Harrison Hawkins added three goals to finish the game 4-1 and take the points.

Team coach Nathan Silvy was pleased how the team got stronger as the match progressed.

“Great hit out from the 15’s in trying conditions, very pleased with the efforts by the team and thought they applied the tactics we addressed at half-time in the second half and finished the game off strongly.

“Plenty still to work on at training but overall a very pleasing way to start the season,” said Silvy.

Although the weather has wreaked havoc for football and most outdoor sports on the Coffs Coast, Head Coach, Jack Dover was pleased with the performance.

“Considering our limited preparations for the upcoming season the under 15’s got off to a great start today, they controlled possession for the majority of the game and were clinical in the final third,” said Dover.

All other matches were called off as the temperature at the venue exceeded the maximum heat policy guidelines.

North Coast Football’s next matches are against Mid Coast FC on Sunday 21 March at Taree.
