THE North Coast Football under 10s played on the big stage last Friday evening when they played a game of small sided football during the half time break of the A-League fixture between the Newcastle Jets and the Wellington Phoenix at Mcdonald Jones Stadium.

It was a night the players in the Skills Acquisition Program won’t forget any time soon, said Head Coach Alex Nolan.

“A big thanks to Newcastle Jets and Northern NSW football for the opportunity.

“There was plenty of energy from the U10s and they had a great night out on the grass at Mcdonald Jones Stadium.

“Nights like these they’ll remember for a long time, watching the Jets put four goals past the Wellington Phoenix and scoring some goals of their own,” he said.

The Newcastle Jets put themselves into contention for a finals berth with a convincing 4-0 victory over Wellington Phoenix.

After a goalless first half the floodgates opened for the Jets as they scored four unanswered with two goals from Cameroonian winger Olivier Boumal, a goal for Beqa Mikeltadze and one for Eli Babal.
