COFFS Harbour Super Heavyweight amateur boxer Josh Sykes, representing Zion Boxing Club, had an excellent unanimous points win over Grafton man-mountain Will Peachy who weighed in at 154kg. Josh Sykes clearly won every round but the young 20 year old Peachy showed that he is one to watch. Sykes, 26-years-old and 126kg, was having his seventh bout and has shown improvement with each outing. The bout was held at Mermaid Waters Hotel on the Gold Coast. Kobey Werner, also representing Zion Boxing, had a strong win over Gold Coast boxer Kye Greenwood. It was Kobey’s second win from two bouts. The fourteen year old weighed 52kg, 4kg lighter than fifteen-year-old Greenwood. Grafton boxer Zac Roberts fought the Main Event on the fifteen bout card. He lost on points to Brisbane boxer Matt Hosking for the Light Middleweight Inter State Title. The youngest boxer on the programme, Grafton’s Nash Wall (ten), weighing in at 35kg, had a great first up win over Toowoomba twelve-year-old Ozzie Matthews who weighed 38kg.
