MANY of us will set the goals for a New Year Resolution, and many will succeed.

This year more than ever we need focus and something to plan towards in 2021.

We need to make 2021 great and hopefully to leave some of the pain of 2020 behind us.

Sadly “travelling more” may not be the resolution for this year, while getting healthier and being more mindful may just top the pile.

NOTA asked you what your resolutions were for 2021.

Here are some of our favourites.

The team from R&R Property told News Of The Area, “Our New Year’s resolution will be to bring even more joy to our community in The New Year!”

One of the newest members of the NOTA team Douglas Connor, Assistant Editor said, “My New Year’s Resolution is to provide an even better local news service to the communities we serve in 2021.”

While NOTA’s longest serving reporter yours truly, is focusing on enjoying where we live, rather than looking further afield for positive experiences, so staycationing and enjoying what is on the doorstep will be high on the agenda.

Ian Farnsworth, of the Tomaree Museum Association suggests that people consider joining a great community initiative to build a Port Stephens Regional Museum – the Tomaree Museum Association, visiting the Port Stephens Council Vibrant Spaces Tomaree Pop Up Museum at d’Albora Marina Nelsons Bay, and entering the AGL Port Stephens Art Competition and visit the Exhibition.

While Jenny Wright, President of the Fingal Bay Probus Club said, “The care and concern shown by friendships and contacts with each other has been so important.

“Keep it up! Remember the one infectious thing you can pass on happily is a SMILE!”

She and the members of the Probus Club wish us all best wishes to you all for a happy New Year.

Medowie local Lachlan Wright’s resolution is to “To play soccer better and go to the gym.” While his mother Rochelle’s resolution is “To work less and spend more quality time with my family.”

The team at Artisan Collective Port Stephens Incorporated, which is located on d’Albora Marina at Nelson Bay wish “Everyone a safe and prosperous 2021 – full of love, health and art!”

The Tomaree Family History Group, which is based in Salamander Bay also send positive wishes for the New Year, “To all good wishes for a happy, safe New Year.”

They remind us to “Stay Safe and take the opportunity to ask family about memories and family connections.”

Having endured this our families fourth lockdown – we hope that everyone follows the current health advice, maintaining social distancing, sanitising and when needed wearing masks.

If you don’t do this for yourself – please consider doing it for the elderly, the vulnerable and those that have invisible illnesses.
