Photo: Emma Darbin. A NEW adult store will be established in the Coffs Harbour CBD following recent approval by Coffs Harbour City Council. The development application for a Restricted Premises (Fit Out & Change of Use from Shop) was approved for a vacant premises at 2c Park Avenue, Coffs Harbour, across from Woolworths supermarket. The new adult store will sell adult toys, gimmicks and promote hygiene for the community, and will employ three staff as well as local trade workers during the store’s transformation. Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au The site will undergo a basic shop fit out, including restricting shop front visibility from the footpath by covering up shop windows to stop unwanted attention from underaged people. Council documents stated that the “development is not expected to result in unacceptable impacts and is not considered to be contrary to the public interest”. Community views were considered as part of the assessment and determination of the development application. The new adult store will be called La Boudoir Adult Store and will operate from 10am to 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10am to 8pm on Thursdays. The store must restrict access to patrons or customers over 18 years of age only. A closed circuit television system (CCTV) will be installed in the premises to display people at the store register and customers entering and leaving the store. By Emma DARBIN
