A Dental Surgery has opened in Bulahdelah and is now open from Tuesdays to Fridays.  Peter Hubbard is the owner of the practice and is Newcastle-based and works every Tuesday and has extensive practice in oral surgery.

He offers a broad range of services from implants, root canal, orthodontics and dental examinations.

A local resident, Katrina, has been given the job as Dental Assistant.

Sharyn Primrose is at the practice as well.

Sharyn is an Oral Health Therapist and offers a range of dental services and works at the Dental Surgery on Tuesdays – Fridays.

Sharyn has a background in Child Dentistry and has worked in many places around regional NSW.

In some instances she has worked with the dental caravans that visit schools and give children check-ups and fluoride treatments.

Sharyn and her partner Marcel have taken up residence here in Bulahdelah.

Ms Primrose explained, “We charge a set rate of $150.00 and that covers examination, x-rays, clean and fluoride treatments.

“There is also bulk-billing available for children who are on the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule.”

The Dental Surgery has been busy on Tuesdays but there are many appointments available on the other days of the week at the moment.

Ms Primrose said that they are happy to offer this service to Bulahdelah and the surrounding area and hopes that the Bulahdelah residents will take up the opportunity to have a check-up and have their dental work done locally.

Bulahdelah Dental Services Expand

The “Bulahdelah Dental”, service officially opened its doors on Tuesday, 24th March.

Dentist, Dr. Peter Hubbard spent a busy day settling the practice in, with first customer Chris Harvey, followed by Sue Harvey and Gary Haynes. A steady flow of patients came in throughout the day.

Peter Hubbard initially proposed that he would operate the service every Tuesday from 9 am until 8 pm if necessary, to meet the needs of the Community.

We can now advise that Peter has engaged a second practitioner Ms. Sharyn Primrose B.O.H., who commenced providing additional services on Tuesday, 7th April.

In addition to the all day Tuesday service, the Bulahdelah Dentistry will now be open on four days a week, (Tuesday to Friday).

Sharyn will be providing additional dental services from 8 am till 5 pm, each day. She will also be available for emergency contact where necessary.

Sharyn, who hails originally from the Hunter, has for many years been working in Canberra as a Senior Dental Clinician, involved in providing dental care for children and aged care.

Sharyn has extensive experience in regional and remote dentistry, including working with Aboriginal communities.

Having transportable dental equipment, in addition to the two fixed facilities at the surgery, Sharyn intends that the service, reach out to schools and nursing homes and those unable to attend the service in Bulahdelah.
