The life-saving machine was funded by the NSW Government, MidCoast Council and Tea Gardens Real Estate.

At the launch last week, the Red Cross’s Kylie Ledger demonstrated how easy the Defibrillator can be activated in cases of cardiac arrest.

President of Myall Masters Swimming Club, Christopher Lock said, “The pool is a vital part of the Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest community’s social fabric and we need to make the facility as safe as possible for all ages.”

The new Defibrillator is portable, so can be transported to events such as the Myall Masters Marathon swim at Jimmys Beach.

It will also be accessible at the pool during opening hours of 6am to 7pm and be a backup for the existing Defibrillator which is housed at the pool.
