Signal played three in the NZ Four that dominated their opposition in both the Semi Final defeating Scotland 20-3 and the Final defeating Australia 23-4. He then went on to win GOLD in the NZ National Championships Fours with another Nelson Bay Bowling Club Staff member Richard Girvan, also winning SILVER in the Singles of the NZ National Championships. After leading 20-14 he went down with a very close 21-20 defeat. He was also won Player of the Tournament. Due to his exceptional form he was selected to play in the Black Jack team in the Bowls Premier League 05 which is an Australian Tournament televised on FOX. Six out of the 10 Black Jack team members all live, work and play Bowls in Australia as the level of Bowls in Australia is much higher and helps in assisting their form. On the encouragement of Nelson Bay Bowling Club’s Bowls Manager, Richard Girvan, Blake moved to Australia early 2016 to improve his Bowls and ultimately make the 2018 NZ Commonwealth Team.
