In her role she visits members who are not well or who can’t get out and about to attend regular meetings. Pat drops in for a cuppa and a chat, and stays in touch with members when they need it most, simply put Pat is there to care. Jill Stephenson Secretary of the Nelson Bay Ladies Probus Club told News Of The Area, “There’s so much I could tell you about Patricia.” “Pat is an avid communicator. “Pat first became a pen pal over 60 years ago through a Reader’s Digest offer, and she is still writing and enjoying the letters that she and her pen pal share. “Pat’s story of how she and her pen pal first met and how they are still corresponding has recently been published in Reader’s Digest,” she said. In her role as Welfare Officer, Pat and other members of the club, help members from Regis and other nursing homes to attend meetings.
