Jan Smith was also recognised as a life member at the meeting. This Probus Club is one of the smaller ones in the region which makes it perfect for ladies who may be a bit daunted by attending their first meeting with large numbers present. The Ladies share in lots of fun and friendship; enjoying group outings and lunches at various venues around the region. Jill Stephenson told News Of The Area, “We are always ready to welcome new members or membership enquiries.” The ladies meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 10am in the Crows Nest of Nelson Bay Bowling and Recreation Club. Please phone Jill Stephenson on 0418 661 689 for information – prospective members can attend three meetings before deciding if they would like to join the club. By Marian SAMPSON
