The event which is held at Fly Point annually attracts thousands with quality entertainment for the whole family.

This year children, can once again enjoy the free pony rides, and there will be two great free jumping castles and giant slide for them, as well as free Australia Day Flags, including the Australian Flag Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags.

There will be a sail past including Moonshadow TQC Cruises at 10.40am, local children can enjoy this cruise free, (subject to availability) boarding is at 10.30am.

The Band The Years will be performing throughout the day and the Grand Finale will be a stunning dance performance by the Robyn Yvette Dance School, who have been a part of the event for many years.

Test your knowledge at the “You think you know about Australia” Trivia Quiz and make sure you enjoy the food court on the day.

The Formalities including a citizenship ceremony and the address from the 2018 Port Stephens Australia Day Ambassador Peter McLean start at 1pm.

Doug Cross, Chairman of Nelson Bay Australia Day Committee told News Of The Area, “We want people to know that it is a family friendly day, in an alcohol free area, celebrating the great things about being Australian.

“We try to make it multicultural as well and we encourage people to come along and enjoy the food in the food court at reasonable prices, most of the food court is provide by local service clubs so any funds raised will go back to the community,” he said.

There is plenty to keep you entertained all day with over 90 market stalls, a classic car display, a reptile show from the Australian Reptile Park, JD’s World Of Magic, and a Sheep and Alpaca shearing demonstrations to enjoy.
