Artists were restricted to a size of 30x30x30cm in 2D and 3D works and their efforts were judged by the owners of Straitjacket Gallery in Newcastle, Ahn Wells and Dino Consalvos.

Four categories were sponsored by local businesses.

An Open Prize of $1000 donated by First National was won by Yvonne Wilkinson.

The Highly Commended prize of $750 was donated by Lions Studio and CD Fine Art Prints, and was won by Marian Marcatili.

The Youth Prize of $250, sponsored by Kate Washington, was won by Victoria Page.

The People’s Choice award of $500, sponsored by JRC Electrical, was won by Bronte Micheli from the Youth Section.

Ileana Clarke from Artisan Collective said, “The Youth Prize was a wonderful addition to this art competition, and we are delighted to be donating a quarter of the entry fee to the Yacaaba Centre”.

The Art Prize exhibition will be on show until the end of December with all the artworks for sale.

Artisan Collective is open seven days a week, 9am to 5pm, at d’Albora Marina, Nelson Bay.
