When he can’t travel, his Electoral Officer, Brendan Seed takes over the reins. “We’re just putting ourselves out there as an information stall,” Brendan said. “We realise that Taree can be a long way for people to travel to our office,” Brendan told News Of The Area. Speaking in Tea Gardens, Brendan said, “This is a mobile office so people can come and talk to us about any issues or problems they have in the community.” “We get lots of enquiries about communications, about council and roads.” Brendan also had some good news for Tea Gardens’ ageing population. “A lot of elderly people are very happy that we’ve reinstated the pensioner concession card.” “That will be coming through on 9 October,’’ Brendan said. The information stall also has some practical handouts. “We give out pensioner guides, taxation return kits, major care kits,” Brendan said. The Nationals mobile office will be back at the Myall Quays Shopping Centre this Wednesday. For more details contact Dr David Gillespie’s office on 6557 8910.
