Winners Rob Marshall and Phil Booth with 62.5 percent.

Equal runners-up, Daphne Priestley and Carol McKee with Astrid and Gus Gorissen scoring 56.9 percent.

Tuesday 11 April.

A three-table Howell this evening with a few welcome new faces.

Winners Maureen Cowan and Richard Levy with 67 percent.

Runners-up, Paula Guthrie and Daphne Priestley with 53 percent.

Wednesday 12 April.

Richard’s popular “Improve your bridge” attracted 17 players.

The feature topic today, opening leads and the associated remedies when an opening lead is made out of turn.

Thursday 13 April.

The long awaited and popular Pro-Am attracted 30 contestants.

This event is an organizational nightmare even the computer protested, nevertheless, it was worth every minute.

Winners with 59 percent Carol McKee and Dominique Wallace.

In second place with 58.3 percent Astrid Gorissen and Peter Plunkett-Cole in third place Maureen Cowan and Gus Gorissen with 56 percent.

A big day for the Gorissen pair!

Saturday 15 April.

A five-table Mitchell today.

North/South winners, Glen Hallett and Phil Booth with 55 percent.

Runners-up. Ali and Neil Tupper with 52.5. East/West winners, Amber Fox and Carol McKee with 68 percent; best score on the day. Runners-up, Lynne and John Slade with 54 percent.

Urunga 12 April.

Eleven pairs competed in today’s event; a sit-out Mitchell.

North /South winners, Nerellyn Mitchell and Peter Jonutz with 58.3 percent.

Runners-up Maureen Cowan and Caitlin McRae with 56.2 percent.

East/West winners, Lynne and John Slade with 66.25 percent.

Runners-up Judy Holliday and Helen Rowsell.
