Tuesday: 12th.Twelve players tonight for a Howell event. Winners Carol McKee & Amber Fox with 64 percent.

Wednesday: 13th. Twelve players were asked to consider what each opening lead meant and what other cards the opening leader may have been holding. This vital part of defence stimulated an interesting and useful discussion.

Thursday: 14th. Four tables for today’s event, Winners Marita Pailthorpe & Barry Butler with 63 percent. Runners-up Carol McKee & Scott Parker.

Saturday: 16th. A good turn-up for today’s pizza & plonk Christmas bash. Forty- six members enjoyed a nice lunch during the annual presentations. Forty -four players contested a Mitchell event won at North/South by Carol McKee & Amber Fox with 60 percent. Runners-up Rob Marshall & Phil Booth. East/West winners with 63 percent, Ali & Neil Tupper. Runners-up Peter Plunkett-Cole & Scott Parker.

Urunga: 13th. Members and visitors celebrated Christmas with lunch at Club Urunga followed by a ten-table bridge event. North/South winners, Margaret & Don McCombie with 59 percent. Runners-up Nerellyn Mitchell & Peter Jonutz. East/West winners, Anne Mouton & Wendy Garland with 60 percent. Runners-up, Janet Dyson & Robert Marshall.
