King tides flooding the causeway and parts of the course.

 

WITH King Tides flooding the causeway and parts of the course almost daily, and continual rain and strong winds most days, the last week has been terrible for both Golfers and Club Patrons.

Thursday’s Golf, Bingo and Restaurant Lunch all had to be cancelled.

Notwithstanding, a good number of hardy golfers managed to dodge the elements to get in their beloved game of golf.

On Tuesday 1 February 2022, 52 golfers played a Medley Stableford.

Joe Street (18) top scored for the day with 39 points to win Division 1 (0 to 19) from Allan McCracken (18) with 38 points.

Patrick Brennan (30) from Kempsey was the winner of Division 2 (20 to 45) with 35 points on countback from David Bartos (20).

Other good scores from Denise Paluch 36, Stephen Kimber & Henny Oldenhove 35, with the Ball Rundown to 31 on countback.

The Women played a Single Stableford on Wednesday 2 February, with Sue Seymour (27) the winner with 32 points from Dorothy Bunyan (37) with 30 points.

The Ball rundown to 29 points on countback.

Thursday’s much awaited medley Multiplier Stableford was washed out and deferred until some future date.

Saturday 5 February was the Men’s Monthly Medal sponsored by Nambucca Local Liquor, and the first round of this year’s Eclectic.

Winner of A Grade (0 to 12) was Allan O”Brien (10) with 68 net from Brock Wilson (6) 69 net.

Bruce Berry won scratch with 76.

B Grade (13 to 18) was won by John Morgan (17) with 67 net from Norman Devereaux (14) with 70 net.

Scratch winner was Trevor Peter with 90.

C Grade (19 to 45) was won by Leslie Mohr (20) with 69 net on countback from Lee Fewings (33).

Scratch winner Jacob Newbury with 92.

Other good rounds from Stephen Carr 69, Sue Brooks, Philip Mander & Colin Wormleaton 70, Nate Beverley 71 and Drew Glasson 72.

The Open “Island Sunday” Mixed 4BBB Stableford was held on Sunday 6 February in somewhat damp and windy conditions.

That didn’t worry Linne & Joe Street who ran out the winners with 40 points on a countback from the day’s sponsors, Sue & Geoff Brooks. Ball winners were Di O’Leary & Rodney Ford, and Rhonda Rowe & Urpo Ylinen with 38 points, and Bryony & Chris Brownlie 37 points.

Henny Oldenhove & Rodney Ford got the Pizza voucher for the NTP on 13.

MNCDGA District Championships – Are being held at Nambucca again this year on Sunday 13 February – over $2,500 in Individual prizes over 4 Divisions and Team prizes.

Bookings are open through the Portal or Pro Shop.

Conditions of Play are on the Notice Board.
