“My wife and I decided to take a walk along Bennetts Beach in July.
“As it was late in the day, I captured long shadows in the foreground, but my focus was on the approaching storm out to sea.
“By a stroke of luck, I was able to record a lightning strike from the base of the cloud although it was some distance away.
“I’m not in the habit of taking my camera on beach walks and I didn’t that day, but used my mobile phone to take this shot with an aperture of f/2.4, shutter speed of 1/3,876 sec and ISO of 50.
“We can always save memories,” Bruce said.
