Without their dedication, there would be no one to save the day on our beach, and without the community which supports them, no club.

The Myall Community Arts and Craft Centre recently donated $1,000 to the Surf Club.

“This money was the proceeds of a raffle held leading up to and during the Art and Craft Show, which was held in January,” Janette Coppock said.

“The raffle prize was a beautiful oil painting by Joan Richards, a member of the Centres Art Group and one of the area’s best loved artists.”

Janette added, “The Myall Coast Arts and Craft Centre is pleased to be able to support groups such as the Surf Lifesaving Club, which makes such a valuable contribution to our community.”

The Rotary Club of the Myall Coast was also pleased to be able to make another $1,000 donation to the Surf Club, happily received by Surf Club President Tony Logue from Rotary President Peter Sivyer.

It was a big year for the relatively small club, with the Open Reserve Men’s Boat Crew crowned world champions at the International Life Saving World Championships at Glenelg Beach in South Australia late last year.
