THE MYALL River Festival is just over a month away and it’s a hectic time for those involved in putting on the family fun event in Tea Gardens this year.

Meetings of the Festival Committee are being ramped up with the final touches being made to the program of events on Saturday 13 October.

“The community is really getting on board with sponsorship and applications for stalls from business and not for profit groups,” Myall Coast Chamber of Commerce President Graham Lang said.

“This is going to be a great day out for locals and visitors to Tea Gardens and the start of making the Festival an iconic destination on the tourist map.”

“We’ve been inundated with applications for stalls and are just about to close the books” Graham said.

Among the highlights of this year’s Festival will be the prawn eating competition, Crowded House Tribute Band, dunking machine, Greenpaws Dog Show and of course the Fireworks finale.

There’ll be plenty for the kids to do from pony rides, to the petting zoo, mega jumping castle and the Andrenalin Rush, a ride that will popular with both adults and kids.

The Duck Derby will be back as well along with vintage cars, face painting, ‘buy my wardrobe’ and pony rides.

There’ll also be dance and local school performances along with a line dancing demonstration.
