Sometimes outside volunteer help is also given so we say a really big ‘Thank You’ to Gordon Rowe for organizing the repair of some of our chairs and our equipment trolleys and to Jim Murphy for all the help he gave us with spreading the 8 tonne of topsoil over the lawns.

This form of help is greatly appreciated as the Club’s male membership is sadly lacking.

Monday 20th we welcomed 15 members of Rotary to a fun day of croquet and social activity together with BBQ lunch provided by our caterer Michele Weir and band of helpers.

The beautiful weather allowed everyone to enjoy themselves as Graham Dunn (President) summed up in the final speech of the day.

Croquet is an outdoor, equal opportunity, social activity mallet sport which, like all others, has different games with various levels of difficulty.

They include names like Ricochet, Gateball, Pirates and the more popular Golf and serious Association.

Our club plays Golf on Mondays and Saturdays, Wednesday and Friday are mixed games.

Any afternoon, by appointment, is available for showing new players this interesting game.

Anyone wishing to learn, can receive three free days of games or instruction before deciding if it is a sport for them.

Wonderful surroundings, company and come when you feel like a game make this an enviable choice.

There are also many welcoming clubs throughout Australia where you can play and meet the locals when travelling.

We would particularly like to hear from anyone who understands the games of billiards and/or chess as they will find the Association game an enjoyable challenge.
