Myall Masters Swimming men’s and ladies teams win at home FEATURED Sport by NOTA - February 18, 2016 Myall Masters Swimming Club hosted their third extremely successful Swim Meet on Saturday, 8 February at the Tea Gardens Pool. Michael Rose, Brad Jensen, Peter Kellaway and Leon Bobako. The Meet attracted 22 Clubs from across the State and a Victorian club was represented. Christine Dunning, Jenny Chapman, Shirley Darch and Jenny Hyde. Approximately 160 swimmers and their supporters enjoyed perfect weather, crystal clear pool clarity and manicured lawns, competitive swimming events, genuine hospitality and an all-round great Meet. The local community added to the success of the Meet supporting the club by assisting with the BBQ, donating to the raffle, selling raffle tickets, being ‘’runners’’ with the results, cooking and serving. The new sound system donated by RSL Life and Mid Coast Water was appreciated by competitors – calls to report to the Marshall and the ‘’chicken dance’’ music were more distinct! Myall Masters is deeply thankful to all who contributed to the success of the Meet. The success of the organisation of the Meet was compounded by Myall Masters success in the pool. With 27 swimmers competing for Myall Masters a total of 841 points was a brilliant outcome and positioned the Club in first place. The Meet has been held three years now and Myall Masters has won the point-score each year. This is an outstanding team effort by Club members. Some impressive individual performances were recorded with top three placings in age groups: Christine Sefton, Brad Jensen and Chris Lock – 3rd placing, Mal Motum – 2nd placing, with Leon Bobako and Peter Kellaway placing first. Sharon Taylor recorded four personal best swims. New members, Christine Dunning, Jaclyn Forsyth, Wendy Hammond, Geoff Gessey and Michael Mackay, proved that they will be a force to be reckoned with after sound performances in their inaugural swim meet. Many swimmers recorded their personal best times during the course of the Meet. Leaving no doubt how strong a swimming club Myall Masters is, three first placings were achieved in the relay events. The Meet was a success on many levels as it provides an opportunity to showcase the beautiful Myall Coast area.
