Myall Masters Swimming Club winners at the resurrection series swim meet – Woy Woy Myall Coast Sport News Of The Area by News Of The Area - Modern Media - June 1, 2021 The Myall Masters team boarding the bus after a successful swim meet. FOURTEEN swimmers from Myall Masters formed a strong team to compete in the 2021 resurrection series swim meet held at Woy Woy last Saturday 22 May. The carnival was a success with the Myall Masters achieving an overall fifth position out of the nineteen teams competing in the series which aims to ramp up swimming for all ages in 2021. Team Captain, Hawks Nest local Steve Rees, stated, “The team swam well with some events being a first for a number of our swimmers. “The results included twenty-five personal best times for several of the swimmers. “It was a great outcome despite us missing some of our ‘big swim guns’ and so hopefully when they are back for our next event the results will be even better. “I also want to acknowledge the swimmers who stepped up and competed in the relays in a new stroke or at a new distance to ensure everybody got the opportunity to be in a team. “Thanks to Julie Bergan, Claire Brown, Steve Shepherd, Mark Williams, Sandra Bourke, Doug Gillespie and the team generally.” Highlights included: • Fielding two mixed medley teams both placing fourth. • Fielding two 4 x 100M Freestyle events placing second and third. For the first time, the team travelled in comfort and style on board the Myall Coast Tours bus with lots of opportunities for team building along the way (the singing needs improvement!). Myall Masters is now in training for the NSW Masters relay Championships on 4 July 2021. If you are interested in the club contact myallmastersswimming@gmail.com.
