Myall Lakes and Port Stephens State candidates discussion and Forum MidCoast LGA (overall news) Regional News by NOTA - February 25, 2015February 26, 2015 Myall Coast News services communities that stretch over two state electorates. The upcoming 28 March state election will see the seat of Port Stephens as well as the seat of Myall Lakes to be very hotly contested. For the seat of Myall Lakes so far we have the following candidates to choose from: Greens candidate Stephen Ballantine, Labor candidate David Keegan, Independent candidate Steve Attkins National candidate and current sitting member Stephen Bromhead. For the Port Stephens seat we have: Greens candidate Rochelle Flood, Labor candidate Kate Washington, Liberal candidate Ken Jordan Peter Arena has recently thrown his hat into the ring for the Christian Democratic Party. Myall Coast News has recently been running an online Poll for the Port Stephens seat. With over 100 individual responses it shows Kate Washington, Labour, with a staggering 64.2% of the polled votes, while Liberal candidate Ken Jordan has 16.5%. Is this a sign of where the Port Stephens seat is going? Myall Coast News will restart fresh Poll for both seats within the next few days – being 1 month out from the election. There are special forums organised for the public to meet, question and challenge the candidate for both seats.
