Myall community receives influx of Community Spaces Capital Works projects

 

A NUMBER of projects have been funded through MidCoast Council’s Community Spaces Capital Works Program.

MidCoast Council Project Manager for Community Spaces, Peter Kennewell, said that there are a number of different projects underway.

“The current works underway include seven Capital Renewal Works Projects, three beach access projects, 54 grant funded projects as well as thirteen projects now marked as completed,” Mr Kennewell said.

Hawks Nest and Myall Lakes will see many projects in the Capital Works program, including Myall Park Clubhouse ($200,000 in funding with new funding announced on 28 January 2022 with MidCoast Council committing to match dollar for dollar), Pindimar Boardwalk Decking ($120,000) and Winda Woppa Birdwatching Platform Removal ($10,000).

54 grant funded projects are taking place across the LGA.

Projects in their planning and procurement phase include Tea Gardens Pontoon and Jetty ($370,000 funding), Hawks Nest Community Hall Extensions ($300,000 funding), Tea Gardens Pool – Stage 1 All Abilities Access to site ($300,000 funding) and Tea Gardens Pool – Stage 2 Disability Access to pool ($400,000 funding) and Tea Gardens Library ($379,280 funding).

A number of projects are in their execution phase, comprising of Bulahdelah Showground Fencing and Cattle Shed (cattle shed complete, fencing arrived ready for installation), Hawks Nest Providence Park Amenities (Construction commenced with the ETA for completion, June 2022 due to weather delays and additional landscaping works), Providence Park Tea Gardens Playground and Amenities (project completion delayed until early 2022 due to inclement weather and supply issues).

There is one project currently in the initiation phase for Myall Lakes – the Bulahdelah Lions Park Amenities which is receiving $300,000 in funding.
