A GROUP of twenty of us had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the magnificent Hunter Valley Gardens which were opened 15 years ago, how time gets away. After morning tea at the neighboring village and a spot of shopping we entered the gardens and had a light lunch in the cafe after which we took the train ride around the eight kilometers of pathways and saw ten differently themed display gardens, unfortunately we were a couple of weeks too early for the roses in bloom, but it was a beautiful day and the gardens looked spectacular with the spring blossoms appearing. I am sure we were all inspired from the experience and will use some of the ideas in our own gardens, be it on a smaller scale.
