Myall Coast Little Athletics doing well all round Sport by NOTA - March 17, 2015 On the 13 and 14 December last year thirteen athletes from the Myall Coast Little Athletics Centre went to Raymond Terrace to compete in the Port Hunter Zone Athletics Championships. Gemma Brown and Jaxon Sheehan performed extremely well but did not quite progress to Regionals on this occasion. The other 11 athletes did progress and with pleasing results. Kasey Brown, Braiden Dvorik, Makai Dvorik, Tara Hockings, Jade Hunter, Mikelle McAliney, Keira McGregor, Tyler Rodgers, Leilani White, Lilly-Ann White and Matthew Williams all progressed on to Regional Athletics Championships at Hunter Sports Centre at Glendale on 14 and 15 February, 2015. Unfortunately four of the athletes were unable to compete on the day due to health and other clashes of sport. The other 7 athletes all did extremely well. The weather over this weekend in February was extremely hot with temperatures up in the low to mid 30’s but with high humidity making for a very, very warm weekend. Although the weather was hot we still had some amazing results from our athletes with three of the eleven going on to the State Athletics Championships on 20-22 March. We wish Matthew Williams (1st in U17 boys 800m, 1500m & 3000m), Jade Hunter (1st in U14 girls 3000m) and Keira McGregor (1st in U9 girls 70m & 100m, 2nd in 200m) all the best of luck as they take on this next challenge at State this month.
