Is your child interested in bugs? This school holidays MidCoast Water is offering four hands on activities discovering the critters which inhabit our local ponds and dams.

Pond Detectives is an activity for children age four and up, and it will be offered in four locations next week.

Next Monday 21 September the activity will investigate what lives in the dam at the Tucker Patch at Gloucester. On Tuesday 22 September the exploration moves to Cattai Wetlands at Coopernook.

At both of these locations children will be guided to use dip nets to see what they can catch in the water. You can also stay and have a look around afterwards.

On Thursday 24 September the water bugs are coming indoors and the detective work will take place in Forster Library; then again on Wednesday 30 September at Tea Gardens Library.

“We find so much more than tadpoles, and kids love learning about what story they tell us about the quality of the water.”
