For local event organisers holding events between 1 February 2020 and 31 July 2020, applications are invited for funding of up to $10,000, to be assessed based on the level of economic, social and cultural benefits generated through the event.

Not only do local events connect the MidCoast’s vibrant communities, they help put the region on the map, attracting visitors from around the country and boosting our economy.

From art shows and music festivals, to sporting events, food, fashion and everything in between, local events are a celebration of what the MidCoast is all about and Council is committed to supporting these great events that deliver benefits for the area’s 90,000+ residents.

Depending on the scale of the event, four categories of funding are offered in the sponsorship program:

  • Community event: Up to $2,000
  • Medium event: $2,000 – $5,000
  • Large event: $5,000 – $10,000
  • Iconic event: $10,000+

Applications must be submitted online using the event sponsorship application form, while organisers of ‘Iconic Events” should contact Council’s events team prior to submitting their application.

“This is a terrific opportunity for local event organisers to receive assistance in bringing their ideas and projects to life or improving existing events,” explained Robyn Brennan, MidCoast Council’s Economic Development Coordinator.

“Council has a long history of supporting events across the region with more than 30 high quality applications for sponsorship received in Round 1.”

“We know that these events are largely run by volunteers and the benefits to the community are immeasurable so this is really important assistance for these dedicated event organisers and teams.”

All applicants are required to submit an event budget using MidCoast Council’s event budget template, available on their website.
