Whether it’s new first aid equipment for your community hall, improved access to a local facility, additional seating, or a new PA system, funding through this year’s Donations Program could help get your project off the ground.

Donations of up to $2,000 per eligible organisation will soon be made available.

The program will be offered in a single round of funding across the entire MidCoast region, and aims to support not-for-profit, incorporated organisations in delivering valuable support and services to the local community.

“The donations program is one way we can acknowledge the important role these organisations play in our community, and the tireless work of their members and supporters”, explained Lyndie Hepple, MidCoast Council’s Coordinator, Community Strengthening.

“It’s always encouraging to see the vast range of innovative projects these small amounts of money can help fund, and the positive difference they can make.”

Applications for the 2018/19 Donations Program open on Friday 10 August, and a detailed set of criteria will be used to assess each project. This includes demonstrating support for one or more of the objectives, strategies and actions outlined in MidCoast Council’s recently adopted Community Strategic Plan, and providing a comprehensive project budget that delivers solid value for money.

“We are looking to distribute donations in a fair and equitable way, and to provide support for projects that meet a genuine community need,” Lyndie added.

Full details around eligibility and application criteria can be found by visiting www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/1819donations, where you can also download the application form.

Applications close at 4pm on Friday 7 September, and successful applicants will be required to complete their nominated project before 30 June 2019.

The 2018/19 Donations Program is part of MidCoast Council’s commitment to supporting the region’s unique, diverse and culturally rich communities.
