“The way in which we build community knowledge and understanding of Council’s decisions, services, facilities, events and activities and how we involve them in decision making has an impact on the satisfaction the community feels with Council services,

“We know that the provision of information and the opportunity to participate in Council decision making are key drivers of community satisfaction.

“This strategy also guides how we involve the community in decision-making, so is a key strategic framework for our interactions with our community,” Marcelle said.

The review aims to ensure engagement with the community is timely, accessible, accurate, transparent and genuine.

“Our Community Participation Plan will help the community clearly understand how they can participate, by outlining when and how Council will engage with the community and stakeholders across all planning decisions.

“The intent is to bring all elements together to provide a single commitment to the community about how we will engage and communicate across a range of areas.

“A range of activities and promotions will be starting today to encourage the community to have their say,” Marcelle said.
