Message to my friend who has passed, Shirley Gillett Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - September 16, 2015 Shirley Gillett was a well-known local identity who retired to Hawks Nest 35 years ago with her husband Bob in 1980. Shriley and Pam, one of the many great memories. A good golfer and keen reader who also enjoyed helping at the local library when it first started at Hawks Nest. Then U3A came along with plenty of opportunities to learn and enjoy new things. Shirley loved gardening And was a keen member of the Garden Group. After Bob died she joined the MAH JONG Ladies and played every week. Friday was Shirley’s library day at Tea Gardens. Many people will remember Shirley with pleasure as she was a good friend and kind neighbour. After last Christmas she moved to Thirroul to live with her son & family which she thoroughly enjoyed Until a stroke ended her life in Wollongong Hospital on Saturday 29 August 2015.
