Meg Simmons leaves Tea Gardens, Art Centre wish her well FEATURED Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - November 5, 2014 The American Braided Rug Group, from the Myall Community Arts and Crafts Centre, said farewell to their fellow rug maker, Meg Simmons. “Meg has been a fixture at the Centre for many years and has been a resident of the Tea Gardens area for a very long time,” said Susan Truscott from the Arts and Crafts Centre. Mr and Mrs Simmons recently made the decision to move to Lithgow to be closer to their family. “A huge decision in anyone’s books, Meg has taken this move as an opportunity to clean out, remove and not replace,” Susan Truscott told Myall Coast News. “Her fellow rug makers will miss her sharp humour and wise words,” she said. As a Forensic Accountant and a successful Business Woman, in her past life, Meg has been a very active member of the Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest Communities over many years. Meg said she loved the “escape that rug making gave her and the friends made”. Everyone at the Myall Community Art and Craft Centre wishes Meg well and much happiness.
