Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au It has been a challenging year for the young dancers, with Covid-19 restrictions meaning they were unable to attend lessons for four and a half months. During the Covid-19 shutdown, studio principal Corynne Darcy offered free online lessons to all existing Dance ‘N Dazzle students. While circumstances for examination preparation were not ideal, Corynne is pleased to report her young dancers did her proud. “I’m proud to say they all passed with fantastic results. “Each of the girls put in plenty of extra practice in order to be ready to perform in these exams and extra free lessons were offered to support families financially,” said Corynne. Students were awarded with a certificate, report and a medal for their efforts. “This helps improve the dancers technique, and advance their tap knowledge as well as work towards accreditation.” Students completed exams in Pre-Test 1, Test 2, Test 3, Silver Medal and Intermediate grades in 2020. Intermediate is the fourteenth level of tap exam and the second last exam to complete before dancers can attempt their Teaching Diploma in the discipline. Dance ‘N Dazzle Studio is celebrating its 25th year in Medowie this year and are planning for a celebration in late November. “Although we were unable to hold our mini concert, many eisteddfods, public performances and classical and Jazz examinations, we were thrilled to be able to still hold our tap exams. “We are now working towards our Covid-Safe Concert, with a limited audience, at the end of November.
