Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au It has been a testing year for the Medowie women who have been working tirelessly towards a win in a challenging 2020 climate. The women were never going to be outdone by their Marauder male counterparts who later in the day overcame the Griffins 24 to 0 last Saturday. 10s Captain Kiara Shelton was electric in the win over the Wanderers crossing the line four times to lead the way for the Marauders. The Medowie women ended up crossing the line a dozen times in total with all players getting a taste of the prescribed white line fever. Coach Michael Able had always believed the team was capable of much more than they deserved against their opposing NHRU teams. “The girls’ constancy and effort at training is starting to see them develop and gel as a team,” said Abel. “This win has ignited a spark within them.” The Medowie women face Maitland at Boyd Oval this Saturday at 1:30pm before the men take on Pokolbin at 3pm.
