Current Club President, Paul Murrant congratulated the members on this achievement with a special compliment to the few foundation members who were there. Since its formation in 2003 the club membership has varied and at one stage exceeded 100. It currently stands at 63. Probus motto is fun, friendship, and fellowship and the Medowie Club is run according to this philosophy, providing a valuable social outlet for retired and semi-retired people. The club meets at the Medowie Community Centre on the third Wednesday morning each month, except December. Most meetings include a presentation by a guest speaker and have covered a wide range of topics. Future speakers will include a representative from the Newcastle Aero Club, someone from local community radio and people who will speak about living with various disabilities.
