Recently members were able to get out and about with a visit for the clubs members to Destiny Haven at Brookfield.

This was the first outing for a group of members for some time, with COVID-19 having impacted activities.

Kevin Tomlinson of the Combined Probus Club of Medowie told News Of The Area, “While the Club has been fortunate to be able to hold meetings and hold the Birthday Lunch, visits to other places have been restricted.

“Now there is some relaxation of the places and numbers, the Club is looking at more outings for members,” he said.

The visit to Destiny Haven saw 22 members enjoy a delicious morning tea.

They were also enthralled by the ladies at Destiny Haven explaining the aim of this wonderful facility which has helped them to learn the skills they needed enabling them to turn their lives around.

After the presentation members then visited the chocolate making and the displays of their wares, which include delicious preserves made from their own grown produce, sumptuous chocolates, complimented by a range of jewellery and bags.

Medowie Probus Club is a mixed Club and welcomes visitors to their meetings, which are held at the Medowie Community Centre on the third Wednesday of each month at 10.00 am, the next will be held on 20 January 2021.

The club is hoping to arrange further outings for members, providing COVID-19 rules allow.

The aim of Probus is to provide continued get-togethers in fun, fellowship and friendship, the mantra of Probus, for retired and semi-retired members of the Community.
