Neighbourhood Watch members have tirelessly fundraised to purchase these cameras, and also received support from Deputy Mayor and Councillor Chris Doohan.
Chris told News Of The Area, “I was more than happy to support the Neighbourhood Watch volunteers with this important project to assist our local residents who might be experiencing some concerns on their property to feel safer in their own homes and properties.”
“I put forward my application for funding to contribute to the purchase of the first cameras, and I’m pumped to see the scheme launch as a result.”
“I look forward to the feedback from residents on this fantastic community, volunteer initiative,” he said.
Residents wishing to hire a camera will be given an agreement to sign that outlines the rules around the footage recorded on the cameras.
The next Medowie Neighbourhood Watch meeting on Wednesday 31 October at 7:30pm in the Medowie Community Hall.
