It is the hope of the group that participants who come along will gather confidence to expand their creativity and enter the Medowie Lions Art and Craft Show. They get together every fortnight on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, from 1pm to 4pm in the Boronia Room at the Medowie Community Hall. Cost is $5, and tea and coffee is provided. All ages are welcome at the ArtyCrafty group, and as entrants in the show, with last year’s youngest entrant being seven years old. This year’s Medowie Lions Art & Craft show is on 6 and 7 October 2017 at the Medowie Community Hall. It is not a competition but a showing only and all works must be for sale. Works must be ‘hang ready’ and cost $5 per work for adults and $2 for high school students. Any medium is welcome, and this year’s committee hope to see some more photography entered into the competition. They also welcome school groups to take on a school project and encourage students to enter a piece. Ruth White, from ArtyCrafty, told News Of The Area, “This year we hope to have many more entries including photography.” “We also hope to have art and craft demonstrations to show visitors works in progress.” “Get your ArtyCrafty on!” Come along to the art and craft group and be inspired by some new ideas, or work on some old ones. Be encouraged to enter the Art Show, and show family and friends your passion. For more information, please contact Helen Rieman 0429 840 238 or Adrienne Bayly 0417 671 948. By Rachael VAUGHAN
